Henri enjoyed last weekend with his mom and grandparents at Elm Cove Cottages in Honey Harbour. It started off as a rainy weekend which gave Henri time to enjoy a game of 'Crazy 8s' followed by a little sun giving us time to enjoy the paddle boats, canoes, bonfire, sand, swing set and exploring nature.

Father's Day Get Together
We spent Saturday afternoon at Grandpa's house celebrating Father's Day. Henri brought his keyboard to do a piano recital playing three of the songs he has been practicing for the last few weeks. Julian (Henri's cousin) followed with his own rendition of the"dinosaur song.' After the party we stopped by Uncle Steve's house to swim with Justin & Taylor.

Mapleton Organic Farm Tour
Henri enjoyed learning more about organic farming methods during this week's visit at Mapleton Organic Farm. He had a great time with Peter and other friends exploring the farm and petting baby cows, chickens, turkeys, pigs, goats, etc. One would normally think that ice cream would be a just reward after such a great learning experience, but in this instance, despite enjoying the many flavours of organic ice cream flavours offered including 'dandelion', participants couldn't wait finish eating their cones so they could then tackle the amazing maze and reach the huge pirate ship play area.

Snapping Turtle
On Saturday Henri spotted his second snapping turtle this year. They come out of the lake around June or early July to dig a nest and lay their eggs. We keep a bit of distance to not disturb the turtle and avoid a painful bite (our cat Tommy once got bite under his jaw). Unfortunately on Sunday we found six broken turtle eggs near the neighbours so we think probably a raccoon or another small critter got into the nest.
Splashing Around
It was extremely hot on Tuesday so Henri set up his new swimming pool and invited his friends Peter, Patrick and Jessica over to play. The had a great time together splashing and squirting each other with the super soaker (even the parents joined in). They ended their visit with a refreshing bite of watermelon. Finally...summer has arrived!

Community Garage Sale
Henri decided to take part in the neighbourhood garage sale. He gathered together some of his old books and toys to sell and priced every item ranging from 2-30 cents and in total he made $1.55 profit. The sale ended after about an hour because of rain so they set up again on Sunday. Henri made cupcakes to sell at his lemonade stand...no paying customers but the other kids really enjoyed the treat.
