Henri invited his cousins Justin & Taylor for a sleepover this week. They had fun fishing and catching frogs/toads at the lake, going on the trampoline, playing with Henri's cats and building a bonfire. Taylor called our house an "adventureland."

Pelee Island
Last weekend, we rented a cottage on the northwest side of Pelee Island (most southern point in Canada) with Henri's six cousins. Henri enjoyed swimming in Lake Erie, roasting marshmellows over the bonfire, and the daytrip to the Pelee Island Winery. His Aunt & Uncle and older cousins brought their bikes and went out to Lake Henry to see the Lighthouse which was built in 1833.

Gaspé Vacation
We decided to escape the seemingly never-ending heat-wave for a while by driving to the Gaspé peninsula, where Henri had a great time during his nine-day visit at his grand-maman's quaint village. He enjoyed playing with his cousin who was also visiting her grand-parents. This gave Henri a chance to improve his oral French skills since his cousin only understands French. He also visited a few local attractions such as the farmers' market and the lovely Jardins de Métis botanical gardens but his favourite attraction by far was the beach, which he visited twice a day or more! Dad didn't complain because the beach offered endless photo opportunities including goregous sunsets!
