Today Henri helped his mom make tea biscuits for her work. We selected a 1933 simple recipe that had only a few ingredients (flour, baking powder, salt, butter and milk). Henri really enjoys baking and ended up doing most of the mixing, and kneading on his own.

Hamilton Museum of Steam and Technology
On Wednesday April 12th Henri went out on a GHG field trip to the Hamilton Steam Museum. The 19th century public works building houses two 45-foot high, 70-ton steam engines, and the oldest surviving Canadian made machines. Henri enjoyed the hands on tour, and learning about simple machines such as lever, pulley, wheel and axle.

A Greener World
On April 5th Henri attended 'A Greener World' library program. Rob Johnson, Wellington County's Green Legacy tree expert read his favourite story, The Lorax and each participant planted a red oak seed. Henri was lucky enough to win a copy of the book, and the following day we went to see the new Dr. Seuss movie.

House Renovation
The room addition is progressing at an amazing pace. Henri is carefully watching them work and learning about each stage of construction (demolition, excavation, pouring the foundation, and framing the new room). Tristan & Henri had to climb up the ladder yesterday, through the window with the electrician to decide where to put the outlets, lights and heater.
