Signs of Spring

Henri has been getting out a bit trying to enjoy the slightly warmer weather. The last few days he has been enjoying the trampoline, and today we hiked around lake. A few of the bulbs are up in the garden and the sap if flowing (one of our trees is tapped).

City Hall Tour

On Wednesday Henri went on a field trip to Guelph City Hall. The tour was lead by Councilor, Jim Furfaro, a seasoned presenter and very knowledgeable about Guelph's history. He decided to run for city council after retiring from being a school principal and school trustee.  On the way home, Henri wondered what Toronto's chamber would look like since it is an even larger city. In the evening, Henri told his mom the presentation was great since he finds politics 'very interesting.'

Grandma Marie's Doll Show

Henri attended his Grandma Marie's doll show on Easter Monday. Over a couple decades Marie has hand-crafted hundreds of unique dolls and quilts which she has recently has decided to get rid of some in an effort to downsize. Many of her grandchildren listened as she described activities you can do with your hands, how she made the porcelain dolls and what items she had in her collection. Marie gave Henri "the gardener" doll for him to have as a keepsake.
