Henri's Adventure: July 2013

African Lion Safari

Henri & Peter enjoyed spending the day on Friday at the African Lion Safari. The weather was very hot but we kept cool driving through the safari in the air conditioned car and later in the splash pad. This is the first time we took the car through so we saw a few of the animals up close (Ostrich came right up to the window). Unfortunately, the hot temperature meant the baboons were not very active but we did see a mother and her baby.

Dog days of summer

Henri invited his friend Peter over this week three times and they tried to keep cool by spending time in the air conditioning or outside in the pool. It was so hot last weekend that even Melissa had to cool off in the kids pool.

Canada Day Fireworks

Tristan & Henri arrived home from the summer vacation just before the long weekend. We had a few projects to do around the house but managed to get out to see the Canada Day fireworks in Orton.

Summer Vacation Part 4 of 4 (Road Trip to Grand-maman's in Baie-Des-Sables, Quebec)

Tristan & Henri left Halifax for Grand-maman's house in Baie-Des-Sables. They spent a few relaxing days walking the dog, exploring the beach, and playing boardgames. Henri enjoyed spending time with his grandparents and during this visit learning how to paint.

Summer Vacation Part 3 of 4 (Road Trip to Antigonish, Peggy's Cove and Halifax Nova Scotia)

We spent one night in Antigonish following the long drive around the Cabot Trail. We wanted to see bald eagles so they suggested we take a hike at the Landing. Before arriving in Halifax we stopped at Peggy's cove and then explored the Halifax waterfront and maritime museum.
