Mother's Day

Henri was happy to get to celebrate mother's day by spending all day with mom. After a yummy breakfast which included bacon, they headed outside and took advantage of the beautiful sunny and warm weather to catch up on some gardening and yard work. Later in the afternoon, Henri enjoyed a visit with his Kitchener cousins, during which he had fun playing a friendly game of horseshoes.

Henri, Patrick & Jessica Tree Climbing

Henri enjoys when spring arrives so that he can get down close to the lake to explore. Henri and his friend Patrick like looking at nature while climbing through trees. Photo # 3 is Henri's favourite tree. Jessica takes her time to carefully maneuver through the branches.

Feed The Children Box Packing

After four visits, Henri considers himself a veteran box packer at Feed The Children, so when he invited his friend Peter to join him for his first visit on Friday afternoon, he was happy to 'show him the ropes'. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed popsicles after packing over 100 boxes of food which will be delivered to local needy families.

A day in the park

Henri & Peter had fun spending the afternoon together on Thursday. After having lunch at McMillan Park, they enjoyed the playground & short nature hike at Riverside Park. On the way home Henri said "Peter has turned out to be a good friend."

Recycled Space Ship

Lately Henri has been having a lot of fun going through the recycling bin to gather containers to conduct experiments outside as well as building items out of large boxes. Recently he took kleenex boxes, toilet paper rolls, raisin boxes etc. to build a space ship.

Bedtime Routine

Going to bed for the night is not Henri's favourite part of the day. One part of his multi-step bedtime routine which he enjoys is doing "six good things", during which we list the top six (or more) good things/events of the day. During this time, Henri's cats are usually close by which gives him a chance to wish Tommy and Pinky good night.

Swan Lake

Almost everyday we walk down to the lake to feed the Trumpeter swans. We purchased a 40 lb bag of corn for $8.00 which Henri insists on keeping in his bedroom. The female swan is very gentle and will eat out of your hands. Her partner is very protective probably because they are nesting and will not let the Canadian geese close to his mate or the food.
