Fun Fair

Henri was invited to participate in a fun fair organized by a homeschool group family. Each participant had to run a carnival game so Henri set up horseshoes & ring toss. The kids got a chance to try balloon darts, mini golf, fishing, etc. and won small prizes. Henri also enjoyed exploring the trail and cedar fort.

End of Year Celebration at Rockwood Lake

Henri & his friend Peter joined a few other homeschool families for the end of year celebration at Rockwood Lake. They enjoyed a picnic lunch and spending the entire afternoon building a sand sculpture. Their favourite game when together is 'run & hide from the cameraman.'

Elm Cove Cottage

Henri enjoyed last weekend with his mom and grandparents at Elm Cove Cottages in Honey Harbour. It started off as a rainy weekend which gave Henri time to enjoy a game of 'Crazy 8s' followed by a little sun giving us time to enjoy the paddle boats, canoes, bonfire, sand, swing set and exploring nature.

Baby Swan (cygnets)

For the past month the mother swan at our lake has spent most of the day on her nest only getting off to eat under the father's watchful eye. It was wonderful last week when the four cygnets were born and swam along side their parents to visit with Henri and his friends.

Father's Day Get Together

We spent Saturday afternoon at Grandpa's house celebrating Father's Day. Henri brought his keyboard to do a piano recital playing three of the songs he has been practicing for the last few weeks. Julian (Henri's cousin) followed with his own rendition of the"dinosaur song.' After the party we stopped by Uncle Steve's house to swim with Justin & Taylor.

Caterpillar Trail Walk

Last Sunday Henri decided to take advantage of the good weather by going for a hike along the Elora Cataract Trail. We stopped at every milkweed plant to search of the monarch caterpillar but having no luck thought it must be too early in the season.

Mapleton Organic Farm Tour

Henri enjoyed learning more about organic farming methods during this week's visit at Mapleton Organic Farm. He had a great time with Peter and other friends exploring the farm and petting baby cows, chickens, turkeys, pigs, goats, etc. One would normally think that ice cream would be a just reward after such a great learning experience, but in this instance, despite enjoying the many flavours of organic ice cream flavours offered including 'dandelion', participants couldn't wait finish eating their cones so they could then tackle the amazing maze and reach the huge pirate ship play area.
