Tourtiere

Tristan & Henri take a day every few months to prepare and freeze about twenty portions of Tourtiere (meat pie) which is one of Henri's favourite meals. 

Erin Fall Fair

We had a great time (and perfect weather) again this year at the Erin Fall Fair. Henri put in two entries (basket of gourds & dozen eggs) and they both placed second. Rick Mercer was filming an episode of his show and we cheered him as he took part in the Mini Chuck Wagon race.

Peter's Birthday Party

Henri enjoyed the "Lets Talk Science" party that Peter had for his 7th Birthday. They took part in a few science experiments including setting off a Mentos bottle rocket in the yard. 

Gourds

Henri grew pumpkins this year and a few varieties of gourds. He is planning on putting a basket together to enter in the Fall Fair.

BBQ at George's

We enjoyed the late summer party (BBQ) at George's house. The kids enjoyed exploring the large property and playing tag/hiding in the woods.

Everdale Carrot FEST

Everdale Organic Farm celebrated it's 15th anniversary. This year we planted a big garden so we didn't get a share so it was nice to get out and spend a bit of time at the farm. They served the  world's largest carrot cake which was very impressive (and delicious).

Blue Mountain Resort

On Friday September 13th we spent the day in Blue Mountain. This was the first time we had been to the resort so we decided to start by swimming at Plunge, followed by lunch, a stroll through the village shops and ended the day by going up the mountain in the gondola.
